NEPA TwilightMoms Get Together

A few of us got together last weekend at Beverly's house (Thanks Bev!) - we had a great time and of course lots of good food to eat :-)

Beverly cracked open her Twilight Board Game, it's based on the Twilight Movie. We had a really good time making up our own rules and even learned a thing or two. Do you know Bella's house number?? What was the subject of Biology class on the day Bella & Edward first met?? Oh and here's one I bet you'll never guess...How do you kill a vampire?

New Moon Paperback - Movie Cover UPDATE

NewMoonMovie.org is reporting the following regarding the New Moon Paperback Cover....
New Moon Book Cover Update: Two New Editions

The mass-market movie tie-in New Moon paperback will have a cover that is a modified version of the New Moon poster, as we first reported correctly, not erroneously as others indicated.

What does this news mean for the “Team Jacob” special edition of New Moon featuring all-new art and a pull-out poster? That edition will be coming out as a trade paperback on September 15th, with the version seen above arriving just before the movie on October 27th.

Both the “Movie Poster” version and “Team Jacob” version with pull-out poster are available for pre-order now.

New Moon Paperback - Movie Cover

It is being reported on several fansites that this will be the cover for the paperback edition of New Moon to be released in conjunction with the movie. (Interesting... to me it seems the only difference is that Edward is looking down and somewhat ashamed).

UPDATE: New reports are claiming the first cover was a fake and that this is the real one. Hmmm I am not sure what to make of that. Not really feeling this cover.

Hopefully this is the last update :-) Entertainment Weekly was the one who released the second picture, they are claiming it is an EW exclusive. I think it is safe to say that the second one is the real one.

How Many Walk Among Us??

Yesterday my sister Becky and I were at the local library dropping off some book donations. Becky happened to be wearing her Twilight shirt which lead to us meeting a fan! (love when things like that happen) She works at the Library, is currently reading 'Twilight' and is LOVING it. We talked a bit about the books, well more like gushed about how good they were and told her how she had to read them ALL! She mentioned that her teenage daughter informed her that moms weren't supposed to be obsessed with Twilight. YIKES!

Well we told her all about TwilightMOMS and our local group and invited her to visit the blog and join us in our obsession! It made me think....how many other ladies are out there who would love to know they are not alone in their passion for Stephenie Meyer's fabulous world of vampires, werewolves, love and friendship?? If Becky had not had that shirt on we never would have known we were talking to a fellow fan. Interesting, I wonder how many others walk among us?

Buffy (The Vampire Slayer) meets Edward Cullen

I had seen links to this all over the place, but hadn't watched it until today (thanks to Becky!) I was not a Buffy fan, but I think this is fun anyway!

Twilight Game Night

Dont forget - This Saturday Night the NEPA TwilightMOMS are getting together for a Twilight Game Night (with snacks & wine)!!

Anyone who is interested in attending and has not yet RSVP'd or if you are just finding out about it, contact me for the details. Click here to email me.

New Moon Sountrack Available for Pre-Order!

Amazon has announced the Pre-Sale of the New Moon Sountrack and is saying that it will be released on October 6 (hmm a great birthday present for my sister who just happens to have a birthday on October 6!)
No word on exactly what songs or artists will appear on the soundtrack, but at least we have a release date!!

Fans Behaving Badly

Over the course of one week of Rob filming in New York City there have been at least two incidents of fans reportedly behaving badly. Now I don't mean that they were ill intended or wanted to hurt Rob, but they certainly took things a little too far. In one case the Twilight Fans practically attacked Rob, having to be pulled off of him and causing the studio to get a police escort for Rob to go from his trailer to the set and back again.

I know that lots of us love Rob and would love to meet him, but at what cost? Rob has said, and many of his costars have mentioned as well, that he is really afraid of the crowds of obsessed fans. He even fears for his safety when he is in the middle of them. Just look at him in the picture below which was taken immediately after the guards pried the females 'attackers' off of him. So why make him more anxious?

In my opinion if someone is really a fan or admirer they should have enough respect for Rob to give him some space (and peace of mind) and for his work to keep a respectable distance so that he can be on-set without disrupting the project. I think we all want him to be accepted by the Entertainment Industry as a legitimate force and not just as the 'Twilight Vampire with the Obsessed Fans'. Let's face it who is going to want to cast Rob or work with him if they know they have to put up with fans acting up and mobbing the set and the actor?

I know we can do it - fight the urge and give him some space. I say we because let's face it who knows I might behave the exact same way if I came face to face with the one who is "Robert Pattinson". (ahhhh swoon swoon)

Rob Mixes it up with a NYC Taxi?

A lot of reports came out yesterday that Rob was hit by a taxi in New York City. Some said he was trying to escape crazed fans, others that he was just being hurried to his trailer among the crowd of fans after filming scenes for his new Summit movie, Remember Me.

According to the Twilight Lexicon Summit has given an official statement....

“Rob Pattinson is fine, the reports are exaggerated and it was not caused by fans. Production continues ,” according to a Summit spokesperson.

A Bunch of Stuff

We've been pretty slow on Twilight Saga News lately. While we are in post-production on New Moon and most likely pre-production on Eclipse our favorite actors are either taking well deserved breaks or working on other projects. I have basically chosen not to publish all the news/drama related to the actors here and stick primarily to Twilight news. (Notice I say primarily, leaving the door open just a little bit).

BREAKING DAWN GIVEN THE GREEN LIGHT??
A while back in an interview Rob mentioned that Breaking Dawn was going to be made into a movie, however there was no confirmation from Summit. Now it's Ashley Green's turn. The press has been hounding her about the rumored Rob/Kristen off-screen relationship (which btw I think is pretty crappy of them to keep asking her about). In one response, she made a comment which indicates that she is under the impression there will be a fourth movie. Still there is no official comment by Summit.

EDWARD'S BIRTHDAY
Our beloved vampire will be celebrating a birthday on Saturday! Anybody remember just how old he will be turning??

NEW MOON SOUNDTRACK
We still have NO official news on who will be serenading us on the New Moon Soundtrack. Reports continue to pop up claiming everyone from Kelly Clarkson to the Jonas Brothers to Jackson Rathbone's 100 Monkeys. I am really starting to get curious!! If I remember correctly Catherine gave the first hint about the Twilight Soundtrack last year at Comic Con, when she hinted about Rob being on there.

TWITTER
If you are on Twitter you can find several Twilight cast members there and a few of them are running contests to gain more followers. Peter Facinelli has a bet going on and really needs to get a lot more followers by Friday midnight, Gil Birmingham is recruiting, Billy Burke wants to poll you about Charlie's mustache and Rachelle Lefevre is going to donate to charity for every 10,000 followers she gets. Check 'em out and give them a hand!

OH YEAH ONE MORE THING
Let's leave this post on a beautiful note. People is releasing it's "Most Eligible Bachelors" edition. Kellan Lutz (Emmett) comes in at #5 (pictured at at Wild West Photo Shoot with one of his 90210 cast mates).

Robert Pattinson (Edward) lands at #10. I am guessing the fact that Rob is stalked, attacked and basically harassed whenever he walks out in public could affect his eligibility ranking - I mean who would want to date someone like that? LOL (I am of course being sarcastic!) This picture of Rob just made me die a little bit.

Interview with Chris Weitz

Metro Canada has posted the third installment of their behind-the-scenes look at the filming of New Moon, an interview with the Director Chris Weitz. (The second installment was an interview with Taylor Lautner, there wasn't really anything new to report, you can find that interview here.)

You can access the interview with Chris Weitz here. I have included some of the highlights. I love the way he answers the Stephen King question, what he says about sticking to the book and his thoughts on the music. Everyday I wait to hear something more about the music, wonder when the soundtrack and/or score will be released.

Q. What was your reaction when you were first offered the job?
A. .......Kristen, Rob and Taylor were great' - that’s what convinced me to do it. And I read the book and I thought I saw my way of making a good version of the book. It’s really a question of whether I can do justice to the book and to please the readers. That’s my job. It’s not to run away with it and just do my version of things. It’s to be faithful to their experience of reading it.

Q. “Twilight”, the first installment of the series, received some criticism for not being 100 per cent true to the book. Are you addressing some of these issues?
A. It’s impossible to be completely faithful to every single page of a book because movies don’t have enough time. So you end up cutting things and combining things. But I would say that we’re definitely using the book as our bible. My take on this film is the film is the book and Stephanie Mayer is my main resource for everything in this. I’m constantly checking with her to see if it’s something a character would do or a detail is right. You can never absolutely please everybody but my main intention is to satisfy the fans of the book.

Q. You’re a very visual director. What’s your vision for New Moon?
A. We’ve got an amazing visual effects team. The whole idea is to use the full palette of colors, to have our shadows be very dark and to have our colours be very rich so that we can experience the full range of emotional texture. The idea is that this will look like a Victorian narrative painting in a way, with those medieval jewel-like colours as well as very glossy deep blacks, and for the composition of the frames to be classical. In some ways, this is going to be a rather old-fashioned film. There are elements that incorporate the latest technology and there are things that are very dynamic in the action scenes. But it’s more Dr. Zhivago than Iron Man.

Q. Is it a way of aiming at older audiences?
A. I think that would be nice, too. Actually, I think there’s an older audience for the books as well -- which is the hidden demographic that people don’t acknowledge, that people’s mom’s are reading this as well! I want to render a version that satisfies the fans of the book but also appeals to an older audience as well. Alexander Desplats is going to do the music, which is another great thing for me. He’s someone I worked with before. I think he’s immensely talented. So the idea is to make something beautiful.

Q. Is the music very important in this kind of film?
A. It is. The book itself is a very internalized narrative and music can be extraordinarily helpful in conveying those kinds of nuances of emotion which otherwise what you would rely on is voiceover or people flat out stating what they feel, which they never, ever do. So it helps you avoid exposition and it can make it intro a really gorgeous nuanced affair. Films enjoy more senses that almost any other art form, so music is going to play a tremendous role in this.

Q. Stephen King wrote in a column that there is no substance, nor emotion in these books, unlike Harry Potter that he loves. What are the qualities of the books in your opinion?
A. The books address the feelings of love and loss that Stephen King isn’t particularly concerned with. (Laughs) I’m not terribly surprised that he says that. I would say, “physician, heal thyself.” Actually, the reason that they’re so successful is that people identify with the main character, with her sense of insecurity, with her sense of being singled out by someone extraordinarily special, with the sense of being broken up with, which is something everyone has experienced unless they are terribly, terribly lucky, and with the deep value of friendship as a way to heal. So I must respectfully disagree with Stephen King. (Laughs)

Want Rob To Talk Dirty to You??

How much do we love the folks at robert-pattinson.ca for this??!!! They have compiled mp3s of Rob saying all kinds of dirty little things. You can listen to them and even download them! Here are a few of the tidbits you can find there...

(My personal favorites) "I'm just like a tool, I'm a tool, a big hard tool" "Feel dirty about. Feel dirty, feel like it's wrong"

A Necklace? - New Moon Movie Spoilers, Don't Look If You Don't Want to Know

Metro News (Canada) went behind the scenes for the Vancouver filming of New Moon and is releasing a series of reports on their visit. The first report can be found here, but here's a little nougat hidden away in the report...

........Ready? Action! Jacob fastens a necklace on Bella. “It catches bad dreams,” he tells her.
But Bella only dreams of Edward, played by Robert Pattinson. The British actor is leaning
nearby on a car, a figment of Bella’s imagination. She is continually haunted by
memories of this impossible love.........

Interesting. Not that it's bad, but we all know there was no necklace from Jacob in the book. What do you think? Keep in mind that not all scenes actually make it to the movie so this may or may not make the final cut.
One more. Here's a little snippet from the filming of the morning of Bella's Birthday when she arrives at school.

.........As the extras disperse and pretend to be heading toward the makeshift school building,
Kristen Stewart, reprising her role as Bella, is greeted by her four best friends singing her
happy birthday as she gets out of her truck.......

Who do you think the '4 best friends' are? Edward & Alice are assumed. Possibly Angela and maybe Jessica. Shouldn't be Jacob at this point of the movie. What do you think?

Stephenie on the Forbes List of the World's Most Powerful Celebrities

Forbes has released a list of the top 100 World's Most Powerful Celebrities.

Stephenie Meyer is # #26 Stephenie - Congrats Stephenie, but I hope the last part of the last sentence isn't true!

Thanks to the success of Meyer's Twilight series, 2008 became the year of the vampire. The low-profile author sold 29 million books last year, releasing two new novels (Breaking Dawn and The Host) and selling hoards of paperbacks of what have become instant classics (Twilight, Eclipse and New Moon). Last November, gothy fans camped out to catch the first film based on the series; Twilight grossed $70 million opening weekend. A partial rough draft of the fifth Twilight book leaked online last August; Meyer published the full draft on her Web site and announced the book wouldn't be published.
