BREAKING DAWN Release Date

A few reports have surfaced this morning saying that Summit has revealed an official release date for BREAKING DAWN..... November 18, 2011.   This makes sense and falls in with the TWILIGHT and NEW MOON release dates.

This means two things to me 1)  Only one release date, means only one movie - if this is true, it  makes me happy  2) We have to wait a year and a half after ECLIPSE - this makes me sad, but also kind of happy since they will have time to work on it and really do it right :-)

Note:  So The release date is official from Summit.  And many are still specualting that there will be 2 movies and are citing "inside sources".  We'll have to wait and see.

BREAKING DAWN News!! Director Named and Stephenie Meyer to be a Producer!!

Check it all out here.

I think it's awesome that Stephenie will be involved as a Producer.  I think that having her close by on this one will prove to be a HUGE asset.

ECLIPSE Trailer MashUp

YouTube User OasisTwilight has taken the 2 ECLIPSE Trailers and put them together for an extended HD trailer.  Love the fans who do these things and share them with everyone!  :-)

I just have to say, one of my biggest complaints about the trailers is how stinking unresponsive and indifferent Bella looks with Edward, when he is declaring his love, giving her the ring, holding her in the meadow.... I feel like a crap for picking at it like that, because really I like most of what I have seen BUT I get so frustrated with the Bella/Edward relationship connection (or lack of) in the movies sometimes. In the book she had strong reactions, I hope we see them in the movie :-) Rant over.  Enjoy the trailer.

ECLIPSE Re-Shoots

With only a little over 2 months until the release of ECLIPSE new reports have surfaced that some key scenes need to be re-shot in Vancouver.  LaineyGossip has the Exclusive Report.  I know not everyone likes her (she's not a Twi-Fan, I happen to like her anyway LOL) but she is in Vancouver, seems to have some good contacts and is usually VERY accurate!

Read her exclusive here and tell us what you think about it.

I have chosen to completely ignore the mention of one Catherine Hardwicke... la la la la

Ever Wonder WhyThere's No Blue in The Twilight Movies? Blue October, That Is...

It's something most of us have discussed at one point or another.  Blue October was one of the major influences in Stephenie's writing of the Twilight Sage.  Justin Furestenfeld, lead singer and songwriter of BO, headlined the Breaking Dawn Tour with Stephenie Meyer.  But after 2 movies, still no Blue!  (Disclaimer: I am a HUGE HUGE Blue/Justin fan and my opinion has always been that if BO didn't want to be on the soundtracks, OK BUT if they were overlooked, grrrrrrr, not OK!!)

Justin made a very interesting comment on this subject, in an interview out today with BLAST Magazine
Well now, If Blue October really wanted/wants to be on one or more of the Soundtracks and has, for some reason, not been included, I am so VERY disappointed.  I mean come on, specific songs (cough, HATE ME, cough) inspired specific scenes, so it's not like their music doesn't fit.  Personally, as a Blue October/Justin fan I have my own opinions on this, but I'll blog about them on my own blog later today :-)
Rumors circulated last year that Blue October, who toured with Meyer, would have a song on one of the Twilight soundtracks. But it never came to pass, and the reasons behind it remained a mystery.
“Me and Stephenie Meyer are great friends,” Furstenfeld said. “I hate her camp, but I love her..... First movie comes out, no song. Second movie comes out, no song. Her management was like, ‘Everything we told you was a lie.’”

Official New ECLIPSE Stills

Looks like the Cullens are dressed for fighting or fight practice!!

I have to say, I think Edward is gonna be smoking HOT in Eclipse, he looks great AND the bad wig isn't lookng quite so bad here :-)

This looks perfect for storytime with the tribe, 'round the campfire!

What do you think of the stills??

The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner: An ECLIPSE Novella

Stephenie annouced yesterday that she will be releasing a novella this Summer!!  Here's a little bit of information and some quotes from Stephenie, from the Press Release issued by Little Brown, Stephenie's Publisher.....

I’m as surprised as anyone about this novella,” said Stephenie Meyer. “When I began working on it in 2005, it was simply an exercise to help me examine the other side of Eclipse, which I was editing at the time. I thought it might end up as a short story that I could include on my website. Then, when work started on The Twilight Saga: The Official Guide, I thought the Guide would be a good fit for my Bree story. However, the story grew longer than I anticipated, until it was too long to fit into the Guide.”

As a special thank you to fans, Meyer is giving them exclusive access to the novel on a dedicated website, www.breetanner.com, from June 7 to July 5, 2010 where fans from around the world will be able to read the book online in English. “I’d always considered The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner as something for the fans,” said Meyer. “They have been so supportive of all things Twilight.”

Read more about this on Stephenie's website.

MTV Movie Awards - Help Pick the Nominees!!

MTV has opened voting for this year's Movie Awards.  Lots of Twilight Saga nominations.

Check it out and vote here!

There's also a write-in campaign underway, check it out at Twilight Lexicon.   I think it'd be a great thing if we could 'vote' Rachelle in after all that's happened.

Behind the Scenes ECLIPSE Pic with Stephenie

This picture appeared on Twitter the other day, not entirely sure who to credit, but it was kinda cool so I wanted to post it anyway.  Glad to see Aro gave up his throne for Stephenie  -  she totally deserves it!!

Chris Weitz Talks New Moon...What Does He Regret?

Chris Weitz answered some questions about the New Moon DVD and Twilight on BuzzSugar.com.

When you go back and watch it again, are there things you'd like to change if you could? I would like to never have shot Rob and Kristen running through the forest and Kristen's just turned into a vampire. Because everybody always laughs and it makes me feel terrible. [Laughs] I would have shot it a different way so it wouldn't get that response. But otherwise, I'm very happy with things.

Ah, sorry Chris, I did laugh the first time I saw it. Read the full interview here.

Remember Me

I'm not going to post a whole bunch of Remember Me stuff since the blog is supposed to be about Twilight not Rob (lol), and let me tell you there is a LOT of stuff out there for Remember Me right now. But I do want to mention that last night was the Red Carpet Premiere in New York City. Kristen Stewart made a surprise walk down the red carpet, skipping the press and allowing the focus to remain on those involved with Remember Me.

The initial buzz from those who have seen the movie is very, very good. Even the skeptics are raving about Rob and the whole cast. It seems there is a big twist or something in the movie and I have decided to do my best to stay spoiler-free until March 12 when we go see the movie. Sooo, that's about all I can tell you.

Rob on Jimmy Kimmel

Rob was indeed "bothered" last night. :-) I tried to embed the NBC videos but they kept crashing the site, so here's the YouTube video.

Monday, March 1, 2010

Rob "Bothered" on Jimmy Fallon

Rob is currently in NYC (so close, yet so far away) to promote and for the Premiere of Remember Me. Now I know this is NOT Twilight related BUT this is....kinda.

Rob will be on Jimmy Fallon tonight. Jimmy Fallon has a recurring skit dubbed "Rob is Bothered". If you've never seen it, basically he dresses up as Edward, sits in a tree and makes funnies about Twilight, Rob, Edward all kinds of stuff. It seems Rob was taping with Jimmy Fallon this afternoon and someone from NBC tweeted this :-)

Robert Pattinson & @jimmyfallon filming outside our offices. Dreamy...

edited to add another one!! This should be hilarious - Rob is such a good sport!

Robert Pattinson is bothered - for real this time

So it looks like maybe Rob will be "Bothered" with Jimmy Fallon tonight! LOL should be fun! Watch tonight (tomorrow morning) on NBC at 12:30. Hope they don't cut the show off before it's over like they did with the Olympics last night :-(

No Muse on the Eclipse Soundtrack?

According to dose.ca it doesn't look like Muse will be on the Eclipse soundtrack.

....we caught up with the band's Dominic Howard to ask him how Muse is coming
along with their latest song-to-play-vampire-baseball-by.

"Nah, it's gone," Howard tells us -- just a few months after he quipped to MTV: "We might even do something for the third one. How about that for a scoop?"

The news is surprising given the band is pals-y with Eclipse's director, David Slade (he helmed loads of Muse's early videos), and possibly pals-ier with Stephenie Meyer (there's even a photo of lead singer Matthew Bellamy cozying up to Twilight's dark-ish mistress on Muse's official site).

"Oh, it’s nothing to do with Stephenie, she’s totally cool," says Howard, beginning to explain how Muse have potentially broken their Twilight hat-trick. "It’s the people in the movie business, completely outside of the writers and the creative types, the non-creative types I suppose are the people who are quite hard to deal with in Hollywood, so it didn’t work out."

Stephenie makes no secret of the influence Muse has on her writing, and she certainly is a HUGE fan of their music? DO you think they should be on the soundtrack or is it 'no big deal' as long as the soundtrack is good??

Eclipse Trailer NEWS

The Official Summit / Twilight Twitter has just broken the news that the Eclipse Trailer will run before Remember Me!! And it looks like it will be shown somewhere earlier in the week as well!

Not that we needed any more, but this is a great reason to go see Remember Me.

Another Retailer Jumps Into the New Moon DVD Race

WalMart has announced that it will offer a New Moon DVD and BluRay "Ultimate Fan Edition" which will include the very first footage from......wait for it....... ECLIPSE!
And that ladies has most likely sent many people canceling their pre-orders with other retailers and pre-ordering from WalMart.
Hopefully this is the one we will be watching at our New Moon DVD Party!!

Breaking Dawn To Be Filmed as TWO Movies. Confirmed? Maybe.

UPDATE: Word is Summit is saying that nothing is official yet. :-)
It doesn't look like Summit has given an official confirmation but it is being reported by HisGoldenEyes (and other sites as well) citing Nikki Finke - Deadline Hollywood as their source.
“I have this from several sources, and it’s definitive. Filming on the back-to-back movies would begin in mid-October, and Summit Entertainment is looking at “high-end” directors. Breaking Dawn is the longest in Stephenie Meyer’s 4-book series lengthwise and it’s the most graphic — presenting birth, attempted murder, death, and of course vampire bites. Published on August 2, 2008, it has a happy ending for most of the characters. Divided into 3 parts, the 1st and 3rd sections are told from the point of view of Bella (Kristen Stewart), and the second section from the perspective of Jacob (Taylor Lautner). It prominently features all 3 favorite characters including Edward (Robert Pattinson). Summit Entertainment no doubt will save money by making these Twilight Saga movies #4 and #5 back to back. Screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg (who’s written all the Twilight Saga films) is currently adapting Breaking Dawn. Eclipse, the 3rd movie, will be released on June 30th.”

What do you guys think? I won't lie, I am a little disappointed. I think they will end up dragging it out to fill 2 movies, and although they would have had to cut stuff out to make it one, I think there was a lot that could have been cut.

FINALLY Some Eclipse News lol

EclipseMovie.org has revealed these 2 new Eclipse stills. They are both from the meadow, similar the the one released last year. And by the way, they both look great, even Bella's hair seems to look good!!!

Details are emerging on a New Moon Soundtrack Companion which is also scheduled for release in March. Thanks to the Twilight Examiner for the following information....

The story broke today that an official soundtrack companion would be making its way to the marketplace on March 16th, the same day of release for Twilight: The
Graphic Novel, Volume 1 and just four days before the release of The Twilight Saga: New Moon, the DVD.

According to Tommy2, whose exclusive it was, the companion will come in the form of CD and DVD, and it'll boast the following upon its tracklists:

CD
1. Lupe Fiasco – Solar Midnite
2. The Magic Numbers – All I Believe In
3. APM Orchestra – Die Fledermaus – Duettino: Ach, ich darf nicht hin zu dir
4. Eskimo Joe – Thunderclap
5. BB Brunes – Cavalier Noir
6. No Way Out – Sed
7. Ximena Sarinana – Frente Al Mar
8. Jennifer Rostock – Es tut wieder weh
9. Anya Marina – Satellite Heart [Air Mail Remix]

DVD
1. Interview with Chris Weitz and Alex Pastavas

4. Anya Marina – Satellite Heart (music video)
5. Lupe Fiasco – Solar Midnite (music video)
6. Hurricane Bells – Monsters (music video)

This has been confirmed, but the information does come with a caveat that the track listings on both are subject to change prior to the album's release.

Note that the artwork for the album has also not been completed just yet

Pre-Order your New Moon DVD

The New Moon DVD is now available for pre-order. But which one to choose?? MTV helps with this pre-order guide...

Both Target and Barnes & Noble are offering special edition versions of "New Moon." Target's is arguably the best, offering a second special edition disc (three discs in all) and a "collectible film cell." The only details they had about the third disc is that it contains "never before seen content," and also commented that quantities are limited for the film cell (so make sure you ask when you pick up your copy). The special edition runs at $36.99, but is $10 off for pre-order, making it $26.99. The Blu-Ray version is $29.99.

Barnes & Noble doesn't offer an extra disc, but does offer much better doodads than
a collectible film cell. According to the bookstore's website, the special edition comes with "a 'New Moon' Dreamcatcher Bag Clip, a metal dangle finished in antique brass that combines a circular dreamcatcher, a sculptural Wolf Pack-tattoo charm [and] a Wolf Pack jewelry tag, feathers, and crystals." The list price for this special edition is $33.99, but online B&N is offering it for $27.19. The Blu-Ray version is $31.99.

If you don't feel like spending some extra money on the various special editions, we found Amazon.com to be offering the best prices, with $21.99 for the two-disc special edition DVD, and $24.99 for the Blu-Ray. Wal-mart was 33 cents more at $22.32/$25.32, and Target was $1 more at $22.99/$25.99, so it all depends on your preferences.

Borders is offering the DVD at $22.99, but the Blu-Ray at a competitive $24.99. Fortunately, they're all well below the market prices.

As for what the DVDs contain for special features, UK website Play had a pretty specific rundown of what will be offered, but we can't confirm that they are going to be the same in the US as they will in the UK. According to Play (who's selling the DVD with a "New Moon" keychain), the documentary included is called "The Journey Continues," and the six parts will be called "1. Life after Twilight, 2. Chris Weitz takes the helm, 3. The subtle details, 4. A look at production, 5. It's not magic, 6. Ready for the World" (Target confirms this).

There will be four music videos: Death Cab's "Meet Me On The Equinox," Anya Marina's "Satellite Heart," Mutemath's "Spotlight" and Muse's "I Belong To You" with behind the scenes rehearsal footage. There will also be a piece called "The beat goes on: the music of 'The Twilight Saga: New Moon'."

There will also be a Fan Event Q&A with Rob, Kristen, Taylor and Chris — probably
from Comic-Con or one of the Hot Topic tours, as well as a bit called "Fandimonium" with a look at the "Twilight" fan culture. There will be a "Team Jacob vs Team Edward" piece, some deleted scenes, introduction special features for the Volturi and Wolfpack, an Edward and Jacob "Fast Forward," special videos on Edward going to Italy and Taylor Lautner becoming Jacob, and finally a feature called "Frame by Frame: Storyboards to Screen."
Phew! Now that you have all that information, where are you pre-ordering your "New Moon" DVD from?

Eclipse Movie Score Info

Howard Shore has been announced as the Composer of the Eclipse score.
Shore, among many other projects, was responsible for the score in the Lord of the Rings Trilogy.

Kristen Talks About Breaking Dawn

Kristen Stewart was at the Sundance FilmFestival to promote two of her upcoming films. While she was there she spoke to MTV about Breaking Dawn...

"I don't even know if it's going to be one [film] or two, or who is directing it, or when it's even going [to start]," she admitted. "I know that it's going to go, but not when yet."

The most important issue facing Kristen's character is the birth of Edward and Bella's baby daughter Renesmee. In Stephenie Meyer's novel, Renesmee's birth is so graphic that Bella nearly dies but is ultimately converted into a vampire and saved by Edward. While the scene is currently unwritten as far as the "Breaking Dawn" script goes, Kristen is eager to learn how it will translate from book to film.

"I haven't seen a script, but I'm not alone in really, really wondering how they're going to handle that," she said.

As important as the birth scene itself is the baby that is born. Will Renesmee be played by an actual baby or will she be given the CGI treatment? It's a tricky question that Kristen doesn't have an easy answer for, but one thing is certain — Renesmee has to be adorable.

"Little Renesmee, she's got to be cute," said the actress. "She can't just be this scary superhuman teeth baby!

Yeah, I am afraid of the creepy teeth baby thing too!!
(Note to spellchecker: Renesmee is not spelled wrong although I am sure you will tell me that everytime I type it :-)

A Little Late But...Happy 2010!!!

So I kind of went MIA for the past 2 weeks, in my defense there really wasn't much "Twilight Saga" news to report. Well, yes there was plenty of news and tabloid stuff going on with the stars of the movies, but we steer clear of most of that here.

Here's to a happy and healthy 2010 to you all! Looking forward to Eclipse this Summer (and our VIP Viewing plans for the midnight release)

AND thanks to Lisa & Marianne we know that Jackson Rathbone's band 100 Monkeys will be performing in Scranton sometime this year.

ECLIPSE Script Leaked?

There are several on-line reports that the ECLIPSE movie script has been leaked. Reportedly it is available as an on-line download.
I'm not sure how true this is, it may or may not be the real deal. I am not going to click the download link to find out, for two reasons....
  1. I don't need/want to deal with any more computer viruses!
  2. As hard as it for me, deep down inside I want to wait for the movie and don't want to ruin the surprise.
