Prepare to be scared. In New Moon, the second installment in Stephenie
Meyer's wildly popular Twilight saga, readers are first introduced to the
ancient ruling class of vampires known as the Volturi. Determined to capture
their creepy menace for his screen version opening Nov. 20, New Moon director
Chris Weitz has given them custom-crafted blood-red eyes. "They're all
hand-painted, specially manufactured contacts," Weitz tells PEOPLE. "They're
opaque red, almost like preying mantis eyes. You can't really see into them.
There's something terribly off-putting about it." British actor Michael Sheen
(The Queen) plays Aro, leader of the Italian blood-sucking clan. Although Aro
and his brothers Marcus (Christopher Heyerdahl) and Caius (Jamie Campbell Bower)
have been "alive" for thousands of years, Weitz says he "deliberately" gave them
a younger look in the film – for which he credits author Meyer.

"Stephenie was very keen to steer away from a kind of wizard-y look for
the vampires," says Weitz. "They do look quite young, but they convey a
formality and self-possession, which comes from age." Perhaps most lethal of all
the Volturi is Jane (Dakota Fanning), an angelic-looking vampire who inflicts
physical torture on her victims. "She is very strange and very spooky in this
movie," says Weitz. "I think [Dakota] wanted to play an evil character for
once."

Lots of New Stuff

LaineyGossip update on Eclipse filming (she is snarky, love her shower curtain comment, and not a fan of Twilight but I enjoy her and she gives good info)

The main stars have been hard at work this week. David Slade tweeted on Monday that he shot with Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson and I can tell you exclusively that Kristen has also been working with Taylor Lautner this week. “Bella” goes on a piggyback run with “Jacob” and they run through the forest. She also drops blood everywhere, and at some point she punches him in the face after he kisses her. And for the Twi-Hards, Slade’s Tweet referred to scenes between Stewart and Pattinson that took place in the “meadow”. My source tell me that they talk about getting married, they roll around a little, and they agree on a wedding date. Now go make out with your Edward Cullen shower curtain.

StephenieMeyer.com made an announcment today about the New Moon Soundtrack.....

I just received the following announcement from Atlantic Records (the record label that produced the Twilight Soundtrack):
The first single has officially been confirmed for the New Moon Soundtrack! Death Cab for Cutie has written an exclusive song for the movie entitled 'Meet Me On the Equinox.' Below is a statement from the band about the song:

According to LaineyGossip, last night scenes were filmed with Victoria and Riley. She reports that Victoria is seducing Riley so that he will "carry out her orders".

This new outtake from a Twilight photo shoot was released this week...Hot, huh?

This barn in the Vancouver area was the location of night shooting this week for Eclipse.

According to LaineyGossip Alice, Edward, Maria and Jasper were involved in the shoot which is believed to be flashbacks and perhaps a vision of a memory. Hmmm sounds interesting. Lainey is also reporting that Kristen has spent more time in a salon "am told exclusively that they were testing out a look, something to do with a transformation, not just her hair, but makeup and costuming too. As a vampire." Ok now I am REALLY curious.

Eclipse Filming Has Begun

Several sources (including Peter Facinelli) reported that the filming would begin this week.

According to LaineyGossip yesterday's scenes included Jasper & Maria flashbacks. This is likely why he has spent a lot of hours training on horseback.

Lainey is also reporting that Kristen spent time in the salon as they test out their options for "Bella Hair"... wig or extensions?? Seems like they will have their work cut out for them in taking her from Joan Jett mullet back to Bella Swan.

Here it is all legal and everything. This was released by Summit today, titled Meet Jacob Black and with a synopsis.

Rotten Tomatoes Talk Chris Weitz

Rachelle Lefevre on Weitz: "Chris is much quieter and calmer anyway, he just has a different style, but also he's come into a world that somebody went through all of that to bring to life. And so I feel like part of the reason he came in maybe a little more quiet was just sort of respect the fact that he didn't just show up and go, 'All right guys. It's Chris Weitz's Twilight now.' He didn't do that at all. He completely respected that somebody else had laid the foundation and he was like, all right, here's where I'm going to take it within the realm of what's already been established. And so it's a different job, you know? It's something that he's executing beautifully because we all really feel both directed and respected in terms of what we've already done. We love him."

Get Together

We had a great time at tonight's get together. Several members of our groups and some friends got together for dinner, drinks and to talk about The Time Traveler's Wife (we had a hard time staying on topic, we just have so much Twilight stuff to talk about lol and only see each other once a month) Then we headed down to the movie theatre for the movie version. Overall I think most of us liked it and felt it was pretty well done. There was a lot of stuff from the book that was not in the movie, but that is to be expected.

After the movie Becky & I stuck around (for an hour lol) and watched the previews before Bandslam. I was sooo nervous that we were going to get in trouble. Get this - we were the only people in the theatre up until about 1 minute before the previews started when 2 others came in! That made me even more nervous :-) The preview looked great on the big screen, but I am still not really getting the whole Taylor/Jacob narrating thing. And because of how fast the end moves it was still hard to get a good look at the Volturi / Edward shots. But really it looks like the movie is going to be GREAT - November 20 cannot get here soon enough!

Edi & Stephenie Watched New Moon!

Check out what Edi Gathegi tweeted earlier tonight! He has apparently watched the first 'draft' (for lack of a better word lol) of the New Moon movie...with Stephenie Meyer....and he says it is AWESOME!!

I also had to remove the 1st New Moon trailer that I uploaded back when it first cam out. They have threatened to remove my account.

I feel like my nephew who was learning the ropes of a good old fashioned "time out" yesterday.
