World of Twilight Site Goes Live

The World of Twilight website (previously listed as 'coming soon') has gone live. Visit here.

The top of the page shows each title with information on the movie. When you roll over Twilight is says 'now on dvd', New Moon says '11.20.09', Eclipse says 'in theatres 6.30.10' and Breaking Dawn says 'coming soon'.

Now that's hardly official word on the status, but at least it sounds like Breaking Dawn is a strong possibility.

Twilight Greetings

Hallmark is releasing a whole new line of Twilight inspired cards. They range from Birthday to Halloween and Valentine's Day. Looks like some of the cards are inspired by the Twilight movie while others use images from New Moon.

Check them out here.

August Get Together

It's been too long - let's get together!!

We are planning a get together for Sunday, August 16, probably late afternoon or early evening to go see The Time Traveler's Wife and then out for a book/movie discussion (and of course to eat!)
If you are interested in joining us and are not on the email list, let me know in the comments and I'll get in touch with you.

A New Victoria?!

According to Twilight Lexicon...

This just in from Summit:

Actress Rachelle Lefevre Will Be Replaced By Howard In The Role Of Victoria

Los Angeles – July 28, 2009 – Summit Entertainment announced today that Bryce Dallas Howard will take over the role of “Victoria” in the studio’s upcoming production of THE TWILIGHT SAGA: ECLIPSE. Actress, Rachelle Lefevre, who portrayed the character in TWILIGHT as well as the upcoming release of THE TWILIGHT SAGA: NEW MOON, will not continue in the role due to scheduling conflicts with another commitment the actor has made. THE TWILIGHT SAGA: ECLIPSE will start filming in Vancouver this coming August.

THE TWILIGHT SAGA: ECLIPSE, the third film in the studio’s TWILIGHT film franchise based on Stephenie Meyer’s blockbuster book series, will be directed by David Slade from a screenplay written by Melissa Rosenberg. The film will be released theatrically in North America on Wednesday, June 30, 2010.

“We are incredibly happy that Bryce has agreed to come into the franchise,” said Erik Feig, Summit’s President of Worldwide Production and Acquisitions. “Rachelle brought “Victoria” to great screen life and Bryce will bring a new dimension to the character. The franchise is lucky to have such a talented actress as Bryce coming in to fill the role.”

Howard most recently starred in TERMINATOR SALVATION as Kate Connor and has been seen in SPIDER-MAN 3, LADY IN THE WATER, and THE VILLAGE. She was nominated for a Golden Globe for her leading performance as an actress in the HBO film AS YOU LIKE IT.

In THE TWILIGHT SAGA: ECLIPSE, Bella once again finds herself surrounded by danger as Seattle is ravaged by a string of mysterious killings and a malicious vampire continues her quest for revenge. In the midst of it all, she is forced to choose between her love for Edward and her friendship with Jacob — knowing that her decision has the potential to ignite the ageless struggle between vampire and werewolf. With her graduation quickly approaching, Bella is confronted with the most important decision of her life.

Is Merchandising Ruining 'Twilight'?

Check out this article on Idol Chatter over at Belief.net. It discusses how the mass merchandising of everything Twilight has the potential to overkill it. On some levels I have to agree, much of it is starting to just plain annoy me. I mean Burger King? Team Edward / Team Jacob Burger King crowns??

Twilight Google

This made me giggle... Fast, beautiful search. Just like Edward

Thanks to Twilight Examiner, Amanda Bell, for the heads up on this. Google now has a specialized Twilight Search page. Here is a screenshot.

Kellan in Disguise

The Twilight Saga actors have to resort to some crazy things to stay under the radar. Check out this pic of Kellan Lutz (Emmett) at Comic Con. He apparently wanted to be able to wander around undetected :-) I wonder if he was successful.

New Moon Panel Videos

Just in case you haven't had enough of New Moon at Comic Con :-)
HisGoldenEyes has a channel on YouTube with videos of the New Moon Panel. We have had recaps and seen some shots, but the video quality of these is much better.
It's hard to hear at times because of the screaming fans, and occasionaly people get in the shot, but hey we'll take it.

Unbiased Review of New Moon Comic Con Panel and Clips

I found this review of the New Moon panel & clips at Cinematical.com (by Todd Gilchrist) very interesting. This person is not a Twi-fan so his perspective on this has the potential to be different than ours. But, overall he says good things about New Moon....

.....Remarkably, the film appears to be in far surer hands at least from a genre standpoint, which should come as no small relief to the fellows out there who will eventually be dragged to see it by their girlfriends or significant others.

Among the panel's high points:

• Director Chris Weitz (The Golden Compass, About a Boy) screened two brand-new clips, and both of them looked pretty terrific, at least in comparison to some of Twilight's cheesier action scenes (not to mention emotional exchanges).

• The highlights of the clips? In the first, Taylor Lautner removing his shirt to wipe blood from Bella's brow, in the process revealing his quite frankly amazing muscles. And the second? Robert Pattinson removing his shirt, in the process revealing translucent skin and a physique that appears to have been enhanced with CGI to suggest muscles.

• Kristen Stewart was predictably tortured, especially given how gaunt and overdyed she looked to play Joan Jett in The Runaways, but she managed to have some interesting insights into Bella. Specifically, she agreed with a fan who observed that the characters are all sort of selfish: "She's intent on doing what she needs to do for herself, just feels what she feels and that's it, especially with [Edward]."

• After the commercial failure of The Golden Compass, Chris Weitz seems much more comfortable, happy and empowered at the helm of New Moon, describing his experience on the New Line movie as "terrible" in between discussions about the relevance and meaning of the Twilight saga to him.

• The overall vibe of the footage and the panel was that New Moon is clearly capitalizing on the success of the first Twilight, particularly in terms of having a bigger, budget, but as a film it promises to be stronger and more satisfying for non-fans.

Clips from Comic Con

Someone managed to get some video out of Comic Con yesterday. Here are videos of the 2 clips shown at the New Moon panel. The quality is bad, pretty hard to see, and a lot of background noise BUT we can at least get the idea of what was shown!! I am a bit surprised by the 'tension' in the first scene. PLEASE leave your comments below - I really want to know what everyone thinks!

E! Interviews

Fun New Moon Interview

EW.com has a great video interview with Chris Weitz, Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, Taylor Lautner, and Ashley Greene. Finding this was a nice surprise I had previously read that they would NOT be doing any back stage interviews.

Check it out here, it's a lot of fun!!

Oh geez - New Moon & Burger King

I am not going to comment on this. Here's an article from MTV.com.

Tens of thousands of Twilighters at the San Diego Comic-Con this morning were greeted by Burger King representatives, strategically placed outside events promoting the franchise. The BK reps handed out paper folding "crowns" — a long-time trademark of the hamburger franchise.

But instead of featuring the King himself, the crowns featured the likenesses of Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, Taylor Lautner and others.

MTV can confirm that Burger King will be featured in the
"New Moon" film via product placement, with its food products being consumed by the movie's stars — well, at least, those of them that can eat human food.

To help promote the tie-in, Burger King will soon begin distributing paper crowns in stores worldwide. One reads "Team Edward" and features
Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and the Cullen clan. The other reads "Team Jacob" and has Taylor Lautner staring seductively from the front of the crown, accompanied by photos of Stewart, and the shirtless Wolf Pack.
"Coming to Burger King Restaurants November 2009" reads the crowns, which are currently wrapped around the heads of thousands of Twilighters around the San Diego Convention Center.

Another interesting confirmation on the crowns? Near the bottom is the words "PG-13. Some material may be inappropriate for children under 13." Stay tuned for blood, Bella and burgers this November, as "Twilight" fans will be getting it their way.

HitFlix Gets Soundtrack Info from Chris Weitz

Director Chris Weitz has confirmed to HitFix.com that Radiohead's Thom Yorke and Bon Iver will be contributing all-new tracks to the film "Twilight Saga: New Moon."

"I selfishly want to put songs in by artists I love. And some the cast and crew also happen to love," says Weitz. "I think [Bon Iver] is fantastic. He says he wrote it for the film, but who ever knows if it might just be something laying around in his cupboard."

Weitz mentioned that he will be listening to Yorke's new track tomorrow (July 24) and "unless it's sounds of him belching, I think I'll put it in."

The comments came during the "Twilight" sequel cast and crew interviews at Comic-Con in San Diego, the multi-day fest at the Convention Center.

British rock group Band Of Skulls -- who have lately been opening for Spinnerette -- will also be included and Weitz still is "hoping to get Kings Of Leon."

As previously reported, Alexandre Desplat will be scoring the film, the sounds of which Weitz describes as "lush. That's how I wanted the cinematography to be."

New Moon scenes shown at Comic Con

So it sounds like people were NOT allowed to take any video of the scenes shown at Comic Con today from the New Moon movie. I am so sad :-( I've been waiting all day to see them. However we have been able to read all about them :-) GOD they sound amazing!! I am really hoping the Summit will be officially releasing them.

This recap was provided by twilightsource.com

WARNING: SPOILER ALERT

- the first one was when Bella gets on the motorcyle for the first time. Bella gets on the bike, Jacob is adjacent to her. He’s teaching her how to clutch and hold the breaks. As she starts to understand he lets go. He tells Bella to let off the clutch, when all of a sudden you see ghost Edward reach down and clutch one of the handles on the bike. Bella reacts and Jacob says “What’s wrong?”. Bella replies “nothing” and gets rolling. When Bella is riding there are flashes of Edward. She crashes, starts to bleed, and then Jacob takes off his shirt to stop the bleeding.

- the second one goes right into the chase. Bella is twitching and freaking out the entire time while Alice is driving with a scarf on her head. They zoom past lots of red cloaked figures. Bella wonders what’s up and Alice explains it’s St. Marcus Day. Bella gets stopped multiple times to find the clock tower. She stops at the water fountain and finally sees Edward. She scrambles, and sees Edward between two huge doors. His shirt is slightly unbuttoned. You see Bella run with full force in slow motion. She does a heroic jump when she leaps into the fountain while yelling “No Edward don’t! No!”. You see a shot of Edward’s foot and a bit of sunlight. As his foot gets just an inch away from the sun light, it suddenly cuts to “NEW MOON”.

Here's one more, from Jen at Rotten Tomates...

Once again SPOILER ALERT!
Clip 1

Jacob Black (Taylor Lautner) and Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) are bent over an antique light blue motorcycle. Jacob wears jeans, a brown t-shirt, and his hair is long. As Bella sits on the motorcycle, Jacob guides her hands (touching!) over the handles. "Brake. Clutch. Gas," he reminds her. Bella revs the engine. "Slowly release the clutch," says Jacob.

Suddenly, Bella sees the translucent apparition of Edward, a concerned look on his face, standing in front of her. We can see him, but also see through him. Bella takes off on the bike.
As she zooms down the road, Bella gains speed. She zooms by another apparition of Edward, standing in her path. She speeds by another. Losing focus, Bella swerves and falls from the bike, hitting her head on a rock.
Jacob speeds over to Bella on his own bike, coming to a stop with a flourish. He hops off the bike and rushes to Bella's side. She is bewildered, and blood gushes from a gash on her forehead.
"Are you trying to get yourself killed?" Jacob asks. Bella apologizes for the blood, but it doesn't bother Jacob.
He takes a step back, the camera following his every move. Jacob strips off his shirt, revealing a six-pack, and bends down to dab Bella's wound with it. Their faces come very close.
"You're so beautiful," she tells him. Emotion flashes across his face.

END SCENE. TWILIGHTERS SCREAM.

Unveiled at the close of the panel, Chris Weitz introduced the pivotal Volterra scene: Clip 2

Alice and Bella are winding through the streets of Volterra, slowed by massive crowds of townspeople in red robes, celebrating the festival. Bella jumps out of the car.

"You're the only one he can't see. He'll be under the clock tower. Go!" says Alice.
Bella races through the crowded city. We see her at times in slow motion.

She fights her way through the crowd, stopping at the fountain in the middle of the square. In slow motion, she looks up to see Edward, slowly unbuttoning his shirt just moments away from revealing himself in the sunlight. He opens his shirt to expose his pale chest. (And his abs. Very nice abs.)
Bella screams out to Edward. "Stop! Stop! No Edward, don't!"
He takes a step forward.
END SCENE. CROWD GOES WILD.

Sorry about the formatting it's being a pain in the butt.

What do Nordstrom and New Moon have in common??

This story is of particular interest to me since one of my sisters worked for Nordstrom for years. They are a great company with wonderful stores. They also have a completely opposite customer base than say....Hot Topic! (Source: Twilight Examiner)

SEATTLE, July 23 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Nordstrom, Inc. has partnered with Summit Entertainment to launch an exclusive fashion and jewelry collection inspired by the highly-anticipated Nov. 20 release of The Twilight Saga: New Moon, the second movie adapted from Stephenie Meyer's novels. The fashion-focused collection will be available at nordstrom.com/newmoon beginning
Oct. 1 and in the BP. department at Nordstrom stores beginning Oct. 15.

Created by Awake, Inc., the apparel collection centers around fitted screened T-shirts, tanks and hoodies that reflect the mood and spirit of the film. Twilight fans can choose from designs that show their affinity for vampire Edward Cullen with a "Team Edward" logo or werewolf Jacob Black with a "Team Jacob" logo. Other T-shirts feature film-related lines such as "Bet You Can't Read My Mind" and imagery such as "Forks High School Phys. Ed. Dept." and the tattoo design worn by the werewolf pack. Plaid tunics and jackets inspired by the style and setting of the film round out the lifestyle collection. Prices range from $32 for a T-shirt to $58 for a jacket.

The collection of silver and gold-plated fashion jewelry created by Nordstrom includes necklaces, bracelets, earrings and key fobs. "I love Edward" and "I love Jacob" heart pendants hang from chains, and bracelets and key fobs feature film-related charms including Bella's truck, Jacob's motorcycle, vampire family crests, a moon, wolf and feather.

"We hope to bring the Twilight experience into our stores through fashion for our customers," said Loretta Soffe, Nordstrom executive vice president and general merchandise manager for women's apparel. "The line allows customers to show their love for the film by creating a whole look with pieces from the collection or combining with other merchandise to create a unique look of their own."

Beginning July 23, customers can count down to the premiere of The Twilight Saga: New Moon at nordstrom.com/newmoon. Nordstrom stores will host kick-off events in November for customers to celebrate the film, including advance screening parties.

Interesting.
I just checked their website and so far there's nothing New Moon. I'll keep you posted.
eta: Here's a link to an InStyle preview of the collection, it also looks like they are showcasing a new Edward movie cut-out.

Comic Con

Well it's that time ... Comic Con. Last year it was HUGE for the Twilight movie, this year it is even Bigger for New Moon! There are lots of reports about fans camping out, stars making their way to the event and lots and lots of new merchandise!

Desperately Seeking ....

(A little back story first) Our family bit the bullet this week and got Direct TV. For the past 10 years (+/- a few) we have had the most basic basic cable we could get, with about 12 channels. Now we have a LOT of channels! I have been watching a bit of tv lately.
Last night I was watching a Twilight show on the Reelz Channel, it was about the search for their TwiCon Correspondent. Before a commercial they showed a sort of montage of people who were there (in NYC) to audition and a lady came on and said "I'm from Scranton, PA". By the time I looked up she was gone.
SO now I have a new mission...find her!! She is obviously a huge fan if she traveled to NYC for this. Help me out by asking around - let's see if we can't track her down.

Screen Shots from the new New Moon site

I didn't take shots of all the screens, you'll have to check some of them out on your own :-)

More from HitFlix - Day 2 Of Their Set Visit

Hit Flix has posted a recap of Day 2 on the set of New Moon. They saw more of the filming in the Volturi's "lair" and report that Stephenie Meyer was on hand, and very pleased with what Chris Weitz is doing with the movie.

Here are a few parts I particularly liked (smile)...

The first shot we witness this morning finds Pattinson on camera in a long brown robe with tan accents on his sleeve. He races to the camera, looks up, braces in pain and then falls to the floor. The second take he has more agony in his voice as he falls and we can hear director Chris Weitz saying, "Much, much better." The third attempt finds the camera panning back to reveal Bell at his side before he lunges toward what must be one of the Volturi (Jane we later discover) and falling to the ground.

After a few minutes, they change the angle of the camera and we see Jane -- in the same scene -- inflicting pain on Edward. Yes, she's the cause and she does it with little gesturing and without speaking a word. A powerful vampire indeed.

The production has a lot to get through today, so the shot then changes to a close up on Bella who is being held by Alec stopping her from racing to Edward's side.

"Please stop," Stewart says, "Don't hurt him."

At first, during rehearsal as the camera operator sets up the shot, Stewart says the lines comically with deadpan effect causing some snickers from the crew. But when the take is ready for real, she says it with the expected dramatic resolve. The coverage also expands to find Alice Cullen (Ashley Greene) being allowed to race to Edward's side. She gesture's that he's "OK."

Apparently there was some sort of issue, which caused everyone to be removed from the set for a time. Which the writer of the article claims has never happened on any of his set visits before (??) especially on a day when all the press was there. After a while they were allowed back in.

Back on camera, Stewart/Bella is once again the center of attention. With Pattinson still on the ground in "pain" as Edward, she receipts her lines, "Stop! Stop! Try it on me! Just don't hurt him!"

There is a pause and then smiling she goes, "[expletive]. I just lost myself a little bit."

The crew's laughter showed little tension on the stage considering what had happened less than an hour before. However, Stewart finally gets it to Weitz's
satisfaction a few takes later and they move on to the next shot.

Showing acting isn't always a glamorous life, our next take finds Pattinson once again on the ground (where's been on and off for at least two hours) writhing in pain as Alice looks up and says, "He's O.K." take after take. Eventually, Edward's
pain is accurately captured and Pattinson is allowed to walk back to his trailer
with his bare chest visible for all the ladies in my party to swoon over.

With Edward gone, the crew continues filming reaction shots. This time? A close
up on Jane who stares ominously where Edward is supposed to be. Notably,
Fanning looks almost unrecognizable in her Volturi outfit. She's stunningly beautiful looking more and more like a ready to graduate senior in high school rather than the sophomore she really is.

Read the article here.

New Picture of Bella, Jacob, Alice Filming New Moon

Check out this new picture from the set of New Moon; Bella, Alice and Jacob in Bella's living room. I think it's safe to assume this is when Alice comes back to Forks after "seeing" Bella die (or not lol). Maybe the night of the cliff dive or the day the phone call from Edward comes in. Also, in the foreground is director Chris Weitz.

I have to be honest with you, seeing this makes me want to eeeeeeeeeeeeee like a little school girl! Only 122 days to go until we can finally see this movie!!

New Moon Soundtrack & Movie Clips

In the LA Times Interview released last week New Moon director Chris Weitz was discussing the pressure he is under right now and what's at stake. I didn't notice that they say he included the name of 3 bands that will be on the New Moon Movie Soundtrack! (Thanks Becky for the tip) and again discussed the scenes that will be showed at ComicCon. Check it out...

.....Driving home from a day of post-production, Weitz says he understands what's at stake. There are 450 visual effects shots to complete, in addition to the score and the movie's soundtrack, which he says will feature songs from Radiohead, Muse and Band of Skulls, among others. But the sequences he's readying for the event -- one, an action scene that will feature some of those effects, the other, a love scene sure to elicit hysteria from the crowd -- will be done in time.....

Muse was on almost all of Stephenie's playlists for books, so they are certainly no surprise; Radiohead was on the Twilight playlist with Creep (love that song) and Band of Skulls is not on any of her playlists. I listened to a few Band of Skulls songs and they sound pretty good.

As for the two scenes that will be shown at ComicCon...."a love scene sure to elicit hysteria from the crowd" This has me really excited! Can Not wait to see what they will be showing!

What A Day in the World of New Moon!!

So it seems the gag order has been lifted from the journalists who visited the New Moon set in Vancouver about 2 months ago. And boy are they talking!!! Here's a quick set of links to those I know about and I'll add more as they pop up.

There's some really fun stuff to read about in each of these. They were there for the filming in the Volturi's lair and pretty much everyone has said how GREAT the Volturi look!!

When you have a few minutes, take the time to read through some or all of them!

Hit Fix
Fandango
MSN Movies
Hollywood.com
(eta) Rotten Tomatoes

Some of these include pages and pages of interviews with the actors, director, producer, stunt coordinator, etc. ENJOY!!

Details of New Moon Set Visit from Hollwood.com

Hollywood.com has a very detailed report of their visit to the New Moon set. I haven't been able to get through all the information yet, but it looks like there's way too much for me to recap.
From what I have read they were there for the scenes of Edward, Alice, Bella & the Volturi!!!!
Check out the whole article here.

HitFlix hits again with an interview with Producer Wyck Godfrey

Yesterday they had a GREAT interview with New Moon director Chris Weitz - today it's producer Wyck Godfrey! It's another long one, but has lots of information.

Breaking Dawn has NOT officially been green-lighted. The actors are NOT all locked into 4 movies. (In my opinion it doesn't sound like he is saying that some haven't already agreed) The issues for Breaking Dawn are, as we all know, Renesmee, the birth scene, and some adult content lol.

Godfrey talks a lot about the fans being around during filming in both Vancouver & Italy. He says that they don't really create any problems. (This interview was done before they filmed in Italy)

Jimmy Fallon did an Edward Cullen/Robert Pattinson vs Harry Potter/Daniel Radcliffe "bit" on Late Night.

Has Eclipse's Riley been cast??

Just Jared is reporting that "Australian baby face Xavier Samuel has been cast in Eclipse, the third flick in the Twilight franchise."

Riley, as you may remember, is the newborn vampire who helps Victoria in her fight against Edward, Bella and Seth.

What do you think???

HitFlix Exclusive: 'The Twilight Saga: New Moon' Director Chris Weitz reveals all

HitFlix has posted a really great interview with Chris Weitz, director of New Moon. It's very long but absolutely worth reading.

Some highlights for me are him confirming the proposal WILL be part of the film, maybe it'll play out a bit differently than in the book, but it will be there; talking about the music (score and soundtrack) and oh heck, there are too many things for me to mention.

Check it out here.

Interview with Taylor

It's a good day for the member s of Team Jacob/Taylor, this is my second blog about him today!

Interview Magazine has a new interview (lol) with Taylor Lautner including pics (see above) and a video! Check it out here.

New Still from New Moon Movie

This new still was released by the LA Times with the McIntyre story I blogged about earlier today.

If you're Team Jacob I am sure you're loving this. :-) I'm wondering if it is from the night Alice comes back...clearly it is after Jacob's transformation since his hair is short, but Bella isn't looking all wet and a mess so maybe it's not after the cliff dive. What do you think??

A really BIG article with lots of tidbits buried inside

The South Florida Sun Sentinel has a new article by By Gina McIntyre (Tribune Newspapers) who was lucky enough to spend some time in Vancouver on the set of New Moon. It's a pretty long article, but has a bunch of good stuff in it. You can see the entire article here or check out, what I consider to be, the highlights below, with my comments in bold red :-) (Note: I had a really hard time getting this post to format right sorry if it looks kinda wonky)

They put a lot of effort into making the 'fleeting Edward images' and I am very excited about that!! Since Bella didn't see him in the book, I was skeptical, but if done right I think this could be fabulous.
"The Twilight Saga: New Moon" is shooting, the lanky English heartthrob stands in front of a tall, wide green screen murmuring a tender admonition, "You promised me nothing reckless." Motion capture cameras hurtle toward him across a length of track affixed to the stage floor, while a team of technicians studies his stance and the tilt of his head. The plan is to digitally insert Pattinson, who plays swoony good guy vampire Edward Cullen, into a scene that was filmed much earlier—one in which he appears as an apparition to his costar, Kristen Stewart, cautioning her headstrong character Bella Swan against hanging out with some unsavory-looking biker types. For the effect to work, Pattinson's image will need to be dropped in at exactly the right position, so despite the cast and crew nearing the end of a very long early May day, perfectionism is still the standard.

Director Chris Weitz really cares about the book, the literature. He is genuinely invested and cares about the book to film aspect of this movie! He was saddened by what happened with The Golden Compass.
Between takes, Pattinson chats with the crew while director Chris Weitz stands several feet away, his arms folded behind his head. Visual effects, "that's not my thing," he concedes with a wry smile. What does interest him is literature. Due in theaters Nov. 20, "New Moon" will mark his third consecutive literary adaptation.
.....During post-production on "Compass," concerns over the story's take on organized religion and its grim ending caused studio New Line to take control of the $180 million movie.....Weitz still despairs that he was unable to faithfully execute Pullman's vision....."It's one of the great sadnesses of my life that it didn't turn out the way I intended it," he says. "New Moon," a story about surviving the ultimate heartbreak and loss, is Weitz's chance to heal his wounds and find a new creative path.

The level of fame brought on by Twilight makes it's two lead stars very uncomfortable (not that that's news, but it's still sad) as EVERY aspect of their lives has become public, in a big way.
.....a stratospheric level of stardom that seems to make both actors deeply uncomfortable. Their reticence about fame is understandable: The nature of their off-screen relationship has become the frequent subject of tabloid speculation. These days, they've taken to declining a number of interviews, politely refusing to answer questions posed even by journalists invited to visit the set.

You get a sense from Taylor of how much they appreciate the fans, but feel overwhelmed by it all.
"I don't know if you can get used to it," the baby-faced Lautner says of the unbridled ardor the series inspires. "We have seen the passion and dedication in the fans. It's fantastic. We wouldn't be here without them, but they're everywhere."You're always experiencing the fans," adds Lautner, who spent nearly a year in the gym training for the physical demands of his "New Moon" role. "Sometimes it does get a little overwhelming."

Finally something about the Volturi scenes!!!! I have been dying to know something more about them!! (Actually I am torn between wanting to see/hear about the Volturi scenes and keeping them a surprise. Imagine how cool it would be to see them on the big screen for the very first time without having been spoiled??)
....the "New Moon" cast and crew are about to spend the better part of a 12-hour day inside the elaborate fiction of an Italianate marble hall complete with columns and engravings in Latin. Today, that vampire ruling council is ruminating over the fate of Edward and Bella. Walking forward with his arms extended, Aro, played by British actor Michael Sheen, sporting blood-red contact lenses, offers a vaguely sinister greeting to his reluctant guests.

Weitz seems to be really vested in the actors and their characters, he wants to hear and consider that they think and how they feel about scenes, lines, etc. That's Great!
....with Pattinson at one point leaving the set to consult with Weitz about a particular line of dialogue. Standing by the monitors, the pair run through a number of options, while Stewart sits on the floor looking a little bored as she waits for the cameras to resume rolling. After several minutes, Pattinson, wearing a long, red robe and fake bruises painted beneath his eyes, returns to his mark, and filming resumes. "I promised the actors that no matter what, we would have time to discuss every single line," Weitz explains. "There was a line that he felt was repetitive, and Rob wasn't feeling where he was in the scene. We worked it out and came up with some alternate dialogue. I can work on the fly a bit because I'm a writer-director, which is helpful. I don't feel stuck or panicky when an actor is not down with a particular piece of dialogue."

BREAKING DAWN! As much as I love some parts and don't love other parts of this book I am hoping, (praying!) as are you, that it will be made into a movie. God, just think about the first 1/4 of the book and how amazing it could be!! (Note: Godfrey is Producer Wyck Godfrey)
A bigger question mark hangs over what is the most adult entry in Meyer's series, "Breaking Dawn." Godfrey was mum as to specifics, saying only that everyone involved fully intends to make what would be the fourth movie. (The Web site imdb.com lists "Breaking Dawn" as in development with a tentative 2011 release date.)"We're shooting 'New Moon,' prepping 'Eclipse,' doing all the marketing—it's a little overwhelming to really think in a detailed manner of how we're going to crack this, but we have every intention to," he said of "Dawn."

A hint at what scenes will be revealed at Comic-Con! Can't wait to see them - Thank Goodness for YouTube.
... in only a few days, Weitz will face 6,000-plus screaming fans as he unveils some never-before-seen footage from "New Moon" at Comic-Con International ..... The two sequences he's readying for the event—one, an action scene that will feature some of those effects, the other, a love scene sure to elicit a certain amount of hysteria from the crowd—will be ready in time.

OK so, I feel even better about Chris Weitz; sadder for Robert and the fandemonium he faces; excited about the Volturi scenes; happy to hear some official yet unofficial word on Breaking Dawn, and again really excited to see the scenes that will come out of Comic-Con! Any speculation on what scenes they will show???

According to EW Twilight is going Manga

EW.com is reporting the following..

For those of you who can’t get enough Edward and Bella, EW can announce — exclusively — that Yen Press will be publishing Twilight in graphic-novel form, publication date still to be determined. Though Korean artist Young Kim is creating the art, Meyer herself is deeply immersed in the project, reviewing every panel.

Take a close look at the biology-class sketch we’ve obtained (that’s an empty dialogue bubble between their heads, if you’re wondering). What’s interesting to me is that it doesn’t look simply like an artist’s rendering of Kristen Stewart and Rob Pattinson. In fact, the characters seem to be an amalgam of Meyer’s literary imagination and the actors’ actual looks. The description of Edward from biology class: “His dazzling face was friendly; open, a slight smile on his flawless lips. But his eyes were cautious.” And Bella: “I was ivory-skinned …. I had always been slender, but soft somehow, obviously not an athlete…” To me, this graphic-novel Bella seems much closer to me to Meyer’s book than to Stewart’s sultry portrayal. The Edward shown is closer to Pattinson, but not a real duplicate; there’s something very winning in the sketch that I don’t see in Pattinson’s all-too-perfect tousled bronze locks and piercing eyes.

What do you think? If you’d like to see more before weighing in, pick up a copy of EW magazine, which will hit newsstands on Friday, July 17 — it contains finished illustrations of Edward, Bella, and Jacob.

Harry Potter

A lot of the ladies in our NEPA TwilightMoms group are big Harry Potter fans. Hope you all enjoy(ed) the new movie. i am currently watching my son and nephew while my sisters, mom and daughter are at the movie.

Cliff Diving Like Bella? Oh No!

According to the TwilightLexicon, another report of fans behaving badly!

We feel really, really stupid saying this, but for the love of Pete, don’t try cliff diving at La Push, or for that matter don’t try to attempt to get to the islands off-shore where there are cliffs. Jacob and pack are not on hand to save you when it goes bad. For everyone’s sake let’s respect the Quileute lands and use basic common sense. We don’t think there is any kind of mass psychosis that is causing hoards of Twilight fans to lose perspective, but please be aware that the waters off La Push are incredibly rough and unpredictable. check the picture to the left and you can see the waves and current.

Apparently the following occurred at La Push:
“There was a full scale US Coast Guard rescue operation conducted in La Push, WA on Tuesday, July 14, 2009 in La Push, WA. A Twilight fan visiting Quileute from Georgia was rescued from an Island they surmised could be the location where the main character Bella Swan goes cliff diving in the 2nd book of the Twilight Saga New Moon.
Chairwoman Carol Hatch released the following statement following the incident.
The Quileute Nation has been very welcoming of all visitors to La Push, but does condone behavior that could result in bodily harm to anyone visiting this beautiful land. We understand the eagerness of fans to seek out every detail that is part of the story, but please remember this is a work of fiction.
The Quileute Tribe appreciates the professional service of the Coast Guard.”
This was one lucky fan. Thanks God there is a US Coast Guard Station right there, but let’s not field test their rescue skills unnecessarily!

UNofficial New Moon Score?!

This is an odd one. Someone has composed and recorded an UNofficial New Moon Score and is selling it on Amazon and iTunes. The artist is listed as Midnight Sun (Twilight Inspired Artist). The song titles are fun and sound about right for the score.... It's Your Birthday Bella, Papercut, Riding on Motorcylces with Werewolves, Something's Wrong With Jacob... just to name a few. I have listened to a little bit of it and I actually kinda like it. But still pretty weird, right?

Twilight CGI MixUp

Here's something good for a chuckle from NewMoonMovie.org...

Twilight CGI Mixup: Baseball is a Christmas Ornament
In the Special Features of the Twilight DVD, it is revealed that the characters used clear plastic Christmas ornaments rather than baseballs since vampires don’t use gloves.

It turns out that the special effects team dropped the ball on a couple of frames of Twilight in post-production, and forgot to add the baseball, as seen in the screenshot above!

Twilight Cast Reveals Breaking Dawn Details
Fri., Jul. 3, 2009 5:28 AM PDT by

After Robert Pattinson confirmed he was signed on for the fourth Twilight installment, Breaking Dawn, back in Cannes, we've all been dying for more juicy deets on the hypersexualized film. (More on exactly how much naughtier the flick will be, next week.)

Yes, we know we're getting overeager since the script for the third flick, Eclipse, which
starts shooting Aug. 17, hasn't even been finished yet.

"I haven't seen a page," exclaimed Ashley Greene, who's heading back up to Vancouver to shoot the third Twi flick this summer.

Even though we're getting a tad ahead of ourselves, we tried to pry any dirt out of Ashley and Billy Burke last weekend on what's in store for the final movie.

Read on:
"All I know is that, as of now, I only signed on to do three," B.B. told us. Coyly played Billy. Maybe he's just trying to keep all Twi dirt on the down-low, or it could be that the secondary castmembers haven't started negotiations. Rob and Kristen Stewart are locked in (after so much drama you have no idea—but you're not interested in that, right?), so that's all that matters.

But Breaking Dawn isn't exactly as far away as you all would think.

"We're going to start right after Eclipse," says Ash.

That doesn't come as surprise to us, as we
exclusively told you how Summit would be pumping out this franchise as fast as possible to avoid any "bumps" in the road.

So will we see any repeat directors for the fourth film?

"I don't think so," says Ms. Greene. "[Eclipse director] David [Slade] and [New Moon director] Chris [Weitz] will both be busy in postproduction, and Catherine [Hardwicke] will be doing Hamlet."

Well, like we said in last week's Truth, Lies, & Ted, there's no friggin' way Catherine would be back even if it was possible! Despite all the success and money C.H. brought Summit, insiders insist she's so crazy she wouldn't get the gig if Robsten themselves demanded it.

And as much as everyone adored Chris, that's not going to happen because of "scheduling conflicts," we're told.

So there ya have it. Who do you all think should do the fourth one?
