The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner: An ECLIPSE Novella

Stephenie annouced yesterday that she will be releasing a novella this Summer!!  Here's a little bit of information and some quotes from Stephenie, from the Press Release issued by Little Brown, Stephenie's Publisher.....

I’m as surprised as anyone about this novella,” said Stephenie Meyer. “When I began working on it in 2005, it was simply an exercise to help me examine the other side of Eclipse, which I was editing at the time. I thought it might end up as a short story that I could include on my website. Then, when work started on The Twilight Saga: The Official Guide, I thought the Guide would be a good fit for my Bree story. However, the story grew longer than I anticipated, until it was too long to fit into the Guide.”

As a special thank you to fans, Meyer is giving them exclusive access to the novel on a dedicated website, www.breetanner.com, from June 7 to July 5, 2010 where fans from around the world will be able to read the book online in English. “I’d always considered The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner as something for the fans,” said Meyer. “They have been so supportive of all things Twilight.”

Read more about this on Stephenie's website.

MTV has opened voting for this year's Movie Awards.  Lots of Twilight Saga nominations.

Check it out and vote here!

There's also a write-in campaign underway, check it out at Twilight Lexicon.   I think it'd be a great thing if we could 'vote' Rachelle in after all that's happened.

Chris Weitz Talks New Moon...What Does He Regret?

Chris Weitz answered some questions about the New Moon DVD and Twilight on BuzzSugar.com.

When you go back and watch it again, are there things you'd like to change if you could? I would like to never have shot Rob and Kristen running through the forest and Kristen's just turned into a vampire. Because everybody always laughs and it makes me feel terrible. [Laughs] I would have shot it a different way so it wouldn't get that response. But otherwise, I'm very happy with things.

Ah, sorry Chris, I did laugh the first time I saw it. Read the full interview here.

Wanna Share Your Twilight Obsession?? "My Life is Twilight"

Check out this website where you can share your Twilight obsession and read about others. Some are funny, some are sad. LOL

New Moon Still On Top But Not By Much (Yikes!)

The Associated Press is reporting......

'New Moon' keeps top box office spot with $42.5M (AP)
Source: AP Sun Nov 29, 2009

LOS ANGELES - Vampires and werewolves continue to howl at the box office with a $42.5 million weekend for "The Twilight Saga: New Moon."

The "Twilight" sequel remains No. 1 for a second straight weekend, though it was nearly blind-sided for the top spot by a real-life football drama.
"The Blind Side" had a great second weekend with $40.1 million, coming in at No. 2 just behind "New Moon." The inspirational story of Baltimore Ravens tackle Michael Oher stars Sandra Bullock as a woman whose wealthy family takes in the homeless teen and enrolls him in private school.
While the weekend haul for "New Moon" dropped steeply from the movie's $142.8 million opening, "The Blind Side" actually went up from its $34.1 million first weekend.
Let's not let New Moon slip out of the top spot!!

Wyck Godfrey Talks About The Making of Bella's Cliff Dive

I think it's safe to say it's one of the most important parts of the book and movie - Bella's Cliff Dive. That one moment set off a whole chain of events and well we all know how that ended :-). Twilight Saga Producer Wyck Godfrey talks about how that scene was brought to life in the movie.

TwilightMoms & Amanda in USA Today

USA Today ran a story on how woman are "mooning" over New Moon. NEPA TwilightMom Amanda (also a moderator and PR rep for the TwilightMOMS.com) spoke with them and has a quote in the article.

"Women really appreciate that because they can read them with their daughters or
younger sisters and not be embarrassed," says Amanda Belcher, 27, a public-relations executive outside Scranton, Pa., who helps run TwilightMoms.com, which has 34,000 members 21 or older.

Stephenie Meyer about Vampires: We're on a Break

Stephenie addresses the Midnight Sun issue.....

To address the many, many questions about Midnight Sun:

I've found that there really isn't any answer I can give that changes the substance or tenor of the myriads of requests, pleadings, and demands I get for Midnight Sun to be finished, so I feel a little silly answering that question at all. But it's the most popular question, so I'll take another stab at it.

I am not working on Midnight Sun now. I don't have a plan for when I'll get to it; I don't know now what the right time for it will be.

In your questions, there were some erroneous conclusions about the situation which I'll try to set straight. First, Midnight Sun is not finished and locked in a safe, waiting for me to be done angsting over the leak. If it were done, I would be throwing it on the bookstore shelves myself. I'd love to be able to give it to all the people who are anxiously waiting for it. Second, I am not upset about the leak. I haven't been for a long time; I was over it after about three weeks. Third, and most important, I am not trying to punish anyone. Not the persons who leaked it, not the people who read the leak, nobody. As I said, it would make me very happy to be able to give it to anyone who wants it.

So why the hold up? Because it's not finished and lying in a safe. It's not done, and finishing it is not a simple matter of sitting down in front of my computer and typing out the words; the words have to be there in my head to type out, and right now, they're not. I have to be in the zone to write any story, and trying to force myself into that zone is a waste of time, I've found. I'll get back to Midnight Sun when the story is compelling to me again. Just because people want it so badly does not make it more write-able; kind of the opposite, actually. I need to be alone with a story to write, and Midnight Sun feels really crowded, if you know what I mean.
People write for different reasons. I have always written to make myself happy. If I'm enjoying a story, feeling the creativity flow, engrossed in a world, then I write and I write fast. If I'm not into it, I can't write. I've never been someone who writes on demand and I can't imagine working that way. As cool as it would be to say to my favorite author, "You know, I'd really like to read a great book about a narwhal mafia. Write that for me, 'kay?" or even "I'd love a sequel to that last one," that's not how it works. How it works is that my favorite author writes a new book about whatever he/she is interested in. Maybe it takes a year, maybe it takes five. If it's something I want to read, I buy it or I check it out at the library. If not, I find something else to read. The end.
(All of this goes for writing about vampires in general, too. Vampires and I? We're on a break.)
I'm pretty sure this won't slow the pleadings and the demands, but I didn't want you to think I was ignoring the question.
In the meantime, there are so many great books out there. I've got some recommendations on my site, and any librarian would love to show you more options. Same goes for independent bookstore employees. Ask for guidance, and they will fill your arms with awesomeness!

Vampire Diaries...Twilight Style

TelevisionWithoutPity has taken the concept of Vampire Diaries and given us a little peak into the diaries of some other famous vampires :-) You can check them all out here. But I am including the Edward Cullen one...

Dear Diary,
I'm having second thoughts about this whole "going to high school" thing. Carlisle says it helps us blend in longer, but does it? Really? I mean, if we just lived in the woods, and made sure our fake IDs said we were 18, wouldn't that be better than making sure every kid in town knows us, and getting our pictures taken and published in book form once a year? Also, the homework is starting to get really annoying. I mean, I have to write a paper on Miles Davis, and I can't even mention that we hung out that one time. This bites. Oh, well, guess I'm gonna go break into that new girl's bedroom and watch her sleep.

Kellan in Disguise

The Twilight Saga actors have to resort to some crazy things to stay under the radar. Check out this pic of Kellan Lutz (Emmett) at Comic Con. He apparently wanted to be able to wander around undetected :-) I wonder if he was successful.
